Dot com to Dot bomb ...what is it?

It's a personal journey through technological revolution of the 90s to today (which has begun to affect change on the world and the individual). The Linux operating system was used often before back when Microsoft wasn't quite involved with WWW because the company thought it would have hurt their business). Microsoft, however, was threatened by WWW and other operating systems. The Mosaic browsers was also one that was used back then when pirates dominated within the culture that existed shortly through circumstances. Technological changes occurred estimated between 1993 and early-mid 2000s. Life in those times was fast, loose, and even out of control. There were a variety of stories running parallel and stories were even broken up across sets of years. Five stages occurred at the time as well: An Innocent Beginning, The Boom!, Insanity!, The Bust!, and The Era Back to Sanity. With Michael Wolfe starting The Internet in 1993, Microsoft became localized and CompuServ existed. Then in 1994, The Web grew with Mosaic Line. In 1995, company Netscape was under Jim Clar and student Marc Andresson goes public - becoming one of the most valuable companies in the world. WIRED also came to existence and even the NFL was on the Web. Then in 1996, Yahoo! and Amazon.com came along to join the game. Then in 97-2000, there were Public Offerings in which shares were given and companies goes bust in 2001. I find it interesting how that happens. How growing a company can go a long way from Friends and Family (in obtaining funds) to a Seed Round (of 50k) then to the First Round (of having 10mil) and to Mezzarine and Public Offerings. Shares would be sold for Public Offerings and I see that it's not so easy going far to be on that big stage in running a business. I think maintaining a business is quite difficult and I believe that maybe it would take more than just money to do so. One must also consider what the stock values in what the market will bear. And with all these companies (mentioned previously including the ones that may "dominate" today i.e. Apple, Google), they can truly be dinosaurs in a sense that they're big and able to take over but then may have some chance of eventually becoming extinct. But... can't that also apply to everything else or even everyone? Can't you be a dinosaur yourself and become extinct?
